How Much Does It Cost To Play On A Pitch and Putt?

The cost to play on a pitch and putt course can vary depending on the location and time of day. On average, a round of pitch and putt can cost between $5 and $15 in the USA. Some courses may offer discounts for children or seniors, or have special rates for off-peak hours. It is best to check with the specific course for their pricing information.

Whatever the cost is will be dramatically cheaper than playing a full round at a regular golf course, and thi is one of the reasons it is so accessible to people.

There are factors that will affect this price, including country and location so for these we have given a table at the bottom of this section so you can get a rough idea in your country. Other factors that affect the cost of a round at a Pitch and putt we look at first.

Factors that affect the cost of Pitch an Putt

Time of Week

Most Pitch and Putt, as well as regular golf courses, offer discounts for playing in off peak hours, sometimes these can be substantial. Off peak is usually any day other than the weekend, although public holidays usually count as peak hours.

In the example on the table below across all countries golf courses will offer up to 25% discount for their mid week players, a time when the courses is usually less busy as well so not only will it be cheaper but it will be more enjoyable to play as well.

Pitch and Putt Discounts

Most pitch and putts will offer a discount to their senior and Junior players and members of up to 50%, these deals are definitely worth looking out for. Also many courses will have a family option, of either one child free, or a discount. If you are playing as a family this is definitely worth taking advantage off.

Course Location

Like everything else in the world location is the driving factor for so much difference in price, and if your golf course is ,located in Monaco then you can expect the price to be higher.

That said, the majority of Pitch and Putt courses are public golf courses, and the prices as you can see below, stay true to the average of 10 to 15 dollars a round of 9 or 18 holes. Most large cities and town will have a course that will be of a similar price, even if you have to search a little to find it.

Pitch and Putt Membership options

If you have been bitten by the golf bug, but are not quite ready or able to join a regular golf club, or if you much prefer the short hole game, then clubs often have a membership option or yearly option.

While a larger initial expense these do work out cheaper if you are going to be playing a lot. They can offer as much as free access, but most offer a heavy discount on green fees.

Be aware that pitch and putt competitions will also usually have an entry fee if you decide to try your hand at competitive golf.

Club Rentals

Although not a large expense if you are playing a lot, or new and loosing balls with too much frequency ( we have all been there) then it can add up. Most courses offer club rentals for between 1 to 3 dollars and ball sales ( usually) for 1-2 dollars.

At the least if you are planning on playing more than once then buying some balls from a local sports or the the Pro Shop might be worth it.

If you are considering buying your own set as you are getting more into it then we have an article on some good choices for pitch and putt clubs here on this page. We would not suggest going full pro clubs quite just yet though.

Course Facilities

not all Pitch and putt courses are created equal and we have played at some that are little more than a waste ground someone drilled a hole in the middle of!

However there are others at the other end of the scale that may be attached to a more prestigious course (flushing meadows is in the list below as an example) and come with club houses, showers, parking, restaurants and more. Not the shack with a kettle we found at one we tried! All these facilities are likely to add costs to your round, whether you can access them or not!

Which leads us to the table below, you can get a Rough idea of the costs in these four countries, but remember the factors above all make a difference in the cost of the pitch and putt.
