Weight: While the shafts of putters will all be similar in wight ( mostly) the head can vary. This is important as this weight will affect both the speed and smoothness of your putting stroke. as a loose rule of thumb heavier putters are more stable, while lighter putters are more responsive but which suits you you will have to test and find out.
Lie angle: This is where and at what angle the shaft is when the putter is flat on the ground. Most generic models are at around 70 degrees, but what suits you may be different. So again if you are taking up the sport seriously it is worth getting what lie angle suits you. It is very likely the utter in the office putting set will be at 70 degrees, so measure it and work from there if you had a putter included.
Grip size: The size of the grip on your putter is important because it affects the comfort and control you have over the club.
